MamaBargains is an e-commerce website offering discounts every 24 hours on designer children's merchandise in limited quantities. The company offers products to parents of children who range in age from newborn to pre-teen. In addition to clothing, the online gift shop offers an ever-changing assortment of toys, child safety accessories, educational materials, jewelry and home decor. Company Background

In early 2008, a 20-something-year-old wife and mother of two, Jessica Singer, struggled to find deals on designer items for her young children. Disgusted with the selection of overpriced merchandise pushed by retailers, Jessica decided it was time to persue her dream of ownning and operating a business. In May 2008, MamaBargains launched from Salt Lake City, Utah, and immediately offered discounts of 40 to 80 percent off retail items. Customer Feedback & Reviews

While numerous 'deal-a-day' websites, such as, and, highlight incredible discounts on the company's products, these 'deals' are slightly overshadowed by complaints of product safety and sales aftermarket items, including furniture and car seats. Not only can these complaints be found strewn across the Web, but on the company's own website under "Gripes and Complaints." In this section of the company's website, there are more than 1,500 complaints compared to approximately 500 positive reviews.

An example of such a comment, posted by a user named 'CPST_Jim' states:

"Let's be quite frank here. As a licensed Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), or Car Seat Tech, I do not need to purchase an aftermarket car seat cover that will explicitly void your car seat's warranty, has never been crash tested, never will be crash tested, and will indeed make your child a crash test dummy in the event of an accident." Business Credibility & Trustworthiness

Two years after its official launch, MamaBargains was named the fastest growing company of 2010, earning Jessica Singer a Stevie Award for Women in Business. As of March 2013, MamaBargains is not BBB accredited; however, three product and service complaints were filed and resolved with BBB assistance between the years of 2011 and 2012. Website Popularity & Google Ranking

The company has the potential to hype its 'mom and pop' status and capitalize on what makes it unique. Unfortunately, it fails to market itself accordingly and ends up competing with giants, such as Zulily, a company that plucked its staff from Microsoft, Amazon and Dell. MamaBargains has a Google Page Rank of 3. It brings in a mere 526,912 visitors to its site each month. Comparatively, Zulily, which markets similar products at similar discounts, drives 23,048,294 consumers to its website each month. Social Media Presence

To prosper as a company, owners must use social media as a tool to market products and discounts. MamaBargains has an active Facebook presence, updating deals and discounts daily to 113,000 consumers. The company also uses Twitter to market its items to 7,800 followers. Consumers should rely on Facebook and Twitter for the most up-to-date deals, as the company's blog is not updated regularly. Website Security & Safety

If you're lucky enough to snag a great deal at MamaBargains, you'll find comfort in knowing the company uses a secure connection to take all payment information. Consumer billing information is protected with an industry-standard 256-bit data encryption, and the company is a verified merchant of According to the Google Safe Browsing Diagnostic Page, the website is not listed as suspicious. Pricing & Packages

Since the company offers unique 'flash deals' each day, it's not always easy to recognize a good deal when you see one. For instance, MamaBargain offered Bambino Land leg warmers for $5.87 to $6.73 per pair. If a consumer rushed to the Bambino Land official website to do a price comparison, she would've discovered that MamaBargain offered the same leg warmers at a discount of 55% off the original price. However, had she browsed around a little more, the consumer might've found the leg warmers listed at $4.99 per pair from Amazon or another competitor. Shipping Rates & Policies

Approximately 78% of the website's traffic comes from the United States. Visitors from other countries should know the company only ships to the United States and Canada. If you to decide to purchase an item, MamaBargains advises its consumers not to use USPS, as it may take anywhere between 10 to 18 days for you to receive your item. Instead, the company urges its consumers to use UPS, which may cost a little more, but ships quicker, and includes insurance. Customers who live in Salt Lake City, Utah, can drop by the warehouse to pick up their items, providing they checked the "Pick Up" checkbox during checkout. The warehouse is located at 2180 South 300 West Suite 107, Salt Lake City, Utah 84115. Payment Methods Accepted

When you're ready to checkout and pay for your purchases, you can use a Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover card. The company does not accept any other form of payment, including PayPal. However, PayPal users who have PayPal debit cards may purchase items, as these debit cards include a Mastercard logo. Returns, Refunds & Exchange Policy

Consumers should be aware of MamaBargains' return policy: There isn't one. The company does not offer exchanges or refunds, as it describes in its FAQ section. If an item is defective, however, the company will attempt to rememdy the situation. MamaBargains purchases its products 'as is' from vendors, and since these sales are final, all sales from MamaBargains to its consumers are final, too. Product images & screenshots Coupons

This information posted is either false or completely out of date. You need to update your information. Mamabargains does not have that many complaints - they have a ton of compliments - and what other site do you see that openly allows complaints to be broadcast? They are a great company that I've shopped for over 5 years and I'm now a vendor. I have experience with them from every angle and they are truly amazing to work with. Take it from a real customer - they are the best out there. The reviews posted by this site aren't even created by a human, much less by someone who has actually shopped the sites they 'review' - I'm disappointed in this review and it's inaccuracies.
